Maven: A Stackable Ergonomic Chair Designed by Süha SÜZEN

Revolutionizing Office Seating with Innovative Design

Maven is a revolutionary stackable ergonomic chair designed by Süha SÜZEN, offering a unique seating experience that prioritizes comfort and functionality. With its innovative design and space-saving features, Maven is set to transform office seating.

Traditional office chairs often lead to ergonomic issues as they only support the user's weight on the hip. This narrow sitting position restricts blood flow and can cause various health problems. Additionally, these chairs take up a significant amount of space when not in use. Recognizing these challenges, Süha SÜZEN set out to create a chair that addresses both ergonomic concerns and space efficiency.

Maven's key feature is its ability to provide different ergonomic seating positions to the user. The chair's unique shape evenly distributes the body weight to the knee and hip, reducing pressure on the joints and promoting better blood circulation. This balanced posture ensures a comfortable and healthy seating experience, even during long working hours.

Furthermore, Maven's stackable and nesting design allows for easy storage and transportation. When not in use, the chairs can be stacked on top of each other, occupying minimal space in the office. This feature is especially beneficial for offices with limited space, as it maximizes the available area and promotes a clutter-free environment.

Maven is made from recycled polypropylene plastic material, which not only contributes to sustainability but also offers versatility in terms of color and texture options. The chair can be customized to match any environment, adding a touch of style and personality to the workspace.

With dimensions of 596 x 796 x 724 mm, Maven is designed to be practical and user-friendly. Plastic details are incorporated underneath the chair to prevent damage when stacked. Each package includes a wheeled transport stand for easy movement within the office. Maven is packed in individual boxes, with 10 chairs stacked on top of each other. The packaging follows Euro Pallet (80 x 120 EPAL) standards, with a pallet supporting each set of 10 chairs.

Maven's ease of use is another standout feature. Once unpacked, the chair is ready for immediate use, without the need for any additional assembly. When it's time to move or store the chairs, they can be placed on the transportation stand and conveniently stored in the desired location.

The Maven project was designed and prototyped in Konya, Turkey, in 2019. The design is currently in the process of being registered in Turkey. The development of Maven was based on extensive research, including academic studies on ergonomic seating and market research to understand the needs of office workers. The design team also considered the challenges of shrinking office spaces, contributing to the overall project goals.

Maven has overcome various creative, technical, and research challenges to provide a comprehensive solution for office workspaces. Its ergonomic design, combined with its stackable and space-saving features, sets it apart from conventional office chairs. The use of recycled materials not only benefits the environment but also offers customers a range of color and texture options.

Maven has already received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2019. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and technical excellence, ultimately contributing to improving the quality of life.

Maven, with its innovative design and focus on user comfort, is set to revolutionize office seating. Its unique features and practicality make it an ideal choice for modern workspaces, where efficiency and well-being are paramount.
